After School Child Care

USD 234 offers After School Child Care each school day from the release of classes until 5:30PM. This program offers additional support and flexibility to parents and guardians who cannot pick up their child immediately upon school release each day. The After School Care Team strives to make the program as fun as possible for students while also being as attainable as possible for parents and guardians to participate in (this program costs a mere $3/day, with payments due weekly.)

The After School Child Care program is made available to K-5th grade students (and some middle school students, with supervisor approval) who can be bussed to Winfield Scott Elementary, where the program is held each day. A typical day at USD 234's After School Child Care program begins with a snack - because who doesn't love an after school snack? - indoor homework time, and then, outdoor playtime (weather withstanding).

All After School Child Care workers are either background-checked, full-time USD 234 employees or select Fort Scott High School students who serve as program assistants, on occasion.

For your student's safety, only pre-authorized pick-up persons (designated on the student's program application) are allowed to collect your child from the program each day.
