The story: Characters from previous “Step Up” movies come to Las Vegas to compete on a reality TV dance series for their own headlining show on the Strip.
The buzz: Since the movie is set in Vegas, I tried to write a feature story about it. Studios usually bend over backward for that kind of publicity. But this time, Summit wouldn’t show me the movie. I offered to sign a contract stating that I wouldn’t review or comment on it, I’d just use what I saw for background in the story. The studio still wouldn’t let me see it. Considering the studio has that little faith in its own product, I might even buy a ticket just to see how bad “Step Up All In” really is.
