Playful Landscapes™ is an innovative way to add climbing hills to any play area, and we expanded our VistaRope line with more great ways to climb and explore.

1 Play is an Equal Right

There are nearly 8-million children in the United States alone with a disability. We design and build inclusive play spaces using research from PlayCore and Utah State University Center for Persons with Disabilities Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services’ Institute for Disability Research, Policy, and Practice. The result is parks and playgrounds that benefit everyone to the greatest extent possible.

2 Healthy Habits for a Lifetime

Active children become active adults. We work with leading researchers to design and develop spaces that encourage children to be more active and to grow into active adults. When you design with adaptive exercise equipment for people of all fitness levels and abilities, communities creating more ways for people to stay fit and improve overall health and wellness.

3 Intergenerational Play

Research suggests intergenerational play is less competitive and more playful. Moreover, studies show there are specific benefits children and adults receive when they engage in play together, including increases in cognitive function, problem-solving skills, and language development.

A community playground designed for everyone to enjoy

The playground at Kevin Hammersmith Memorial Park is a National Demonstration Site for Inclusive Play. Championed by local teacher Mindy McKnight, and designed using the 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design, it addresses the needs of every child, including the thousands of local children with a disability.

The playground features accessible surfacing throughout the space to make it easy for everyone to explore. There is a large ramped play structure, inclusive swings and zip lines, sensory play elements, and shaded areas for everyone to rest, relax, and socialize.

A playground to improve students’ grades and quality of life

School playgrounds are essential for student success. Studies show that children who are physically active perform better in class, and children who play in inclusive spaces will learn how to better collaborate with children of all abilities. The playground at Oakwood Elementary accomplishes both of these goals as an exciting, inclusive space where all students can come together. It is recognized as a National Demonstration Site for Inclusive Play and Youth Physical Activity.

PLAYFUL LANDSCAPES

Inclusive elements and playful innovations combine in this community park

Inspired by the community’s dedication to creating inclusive spaces, Summerville Parks and Recreation Director Amy Evans envisioned a new kind of playground at Saul Alexander Park. GameTime worked closely with Amy to create a fun and accessible play space filled with playful innovations that make it a destination for all ages and abilities.

Saul Alexander Park was designed using the “room concept.” Developed by landscape architects in the late 19th century, this approach divides the park into rooms where people can play in different ways. The main room includes a ramped play structure with Playful Landscapes Dunes and Mesas. These innovative hills look like playground surfacing, but they’re part of the composite play structure and include additional climbing elements. Playful Landscapes use a patentpending LockTechTM framework to make them easy to assemble on site without the need for a general contractor or earth moving equipment.

BUILDING COMMUNITY

The children’s ministry at Saddleback Church wanted to create a fun and welcoming play environment for children in the congregation and the surrounding community. This ocean themed space appeals to young adventurers who want to explore and provides a comfortable oasis for parents to observe or play along.

Landmark Design, GameTime’s custom play team, created a themed play environment for Saddleback Church. They designed a space that celebrates the community’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean and incorporates the natural beauty of the area.

Here you’ll find inclusive playground surfacing that mimics both surf and turf, as well as themed climbers like whales, turtles, boats, and more. There are plenty of shade structures throughout the playground to keep things cooler and more comfortable, and the plants, trees, and additional landscaping infuse the entire space with natural beauty.

It may come as a surprise to learn Alabama is in the top 5 states in the country when it comes to biodiversity. From mountains and forests to swamps and seashore, there is an abundance of natural beauty throughout the state. At Sycamore Elementary, GameTime captured some of that outdoor appeal with a naturethemed playground that celebrates the Alabama timberlands.

Church playgrounds serve an important role in a neighborhood. For congregants and community members, they provide a place to play and socialize. For churches who offer daycare and early learning centers, they are essential for childhood development, as well.

An inclusive play experience was essential for Valleydale Church. They selected a ramped play structure, inclusive whirl, accessible swings, and musical instruments designed for everyone to use.

At the foot of the Wasatch mountain range is a playground for the adventurer in all of us! We included massive net towers, inclusive net climbers, spinning activities, and more to inspire movement and imagination.

If you consider yourself an adventurer seeking new heights to climb, you’ll love the VistaTwist Tower on this playground. It’s fully enclosed and stands over 23’ tall. Next to it is another massive net climber that is also inclusive - GT Wave. We included a net that spins and our popular TriRunner for more ways to keep children in motion! Combined with the play structure for ages 2 to 5, the play area provides a wide range of play for an even wider range of play styles.

DESTINATION: PLAY

In the midst of the 200-acre Oglesby Park is an exciting new playground unlike any other. The terraced design features three play areas. There is a large nature-themed play structure for ages 5 to 12 at the lowest level and a smaller structure for ages 2 to 5 in the middle. Towering above it all is a massive net climber at the top of the hill with over 3,600 square feet of play space!

At Oglesby Park, GameTime created a destination playground that complements the surrounding natural beauty and inspires all families to enjoy the space together. This park includes a large, ramped play structure, ground level, multiuser play activities, and plenty of areas to gather and socialize during play.

Preschool-aged children have a space designed just for them, and the adventurous types love the custom net climber. The net’s multilevel design makes it possible for nearly 100 children to play at once!

There’s truly something for everyone at this beautiful park!

A CITY AT PLAY

Underneath the I-59/I-20 interstate bridges in Birmingham, AL is an exciting urban park. BHAM City Walk is reconnecting the Birmingham community and creating a destination and common area open to everyone.

GameTime’s custom play division, Landmark Design, worked closely with the city of Birmingham to capture the vision for a one-of-akind place for families to enjoy.

More than 80,000 vehicles per day pass through Birmingham, Alabama along the I-59/I-20 bridges. Now, there is a new reason for some of those vehicles to exit and explore the city below.

The original standard, F1487-93 was published in 1993 and subsequently replaced by the current version F1487-17. Published February 2017.

GameTime Policies

Specifications: Specifications were current at the time of publication. GameTime has an ongoing policy of product improvement and therefore reserves the right to improve specifications or discontinue products without notice.

Terms of Sale: To governmental agencies and tax supported institutions, and those with approved credit, payment is due within 30 days from the date of invoice. A 1.5% per month finance charge will be imposed on all past due accounts. We also accept payment by Visa, Master Card, or American Express with a 2.5% convenience fee charged for each transaction. GameTime’s preferred method of payment is by ACH. All other orders will require a 50% deposit at the time of order entry. The balance will be due with a certified check upon receipt of shipment (C.O.D.).

Prices: Prices are F.O.B. factory and do not include freight charges. All prices listed were current at the time of publication and quoted in U.S. Funds. Prices are subject to change without notice. Current prices will apply at the time of shipment. Due to the abnormally high cost of fuel and its impact on many of the materials used in our industry, quotations are valid for 30 days only and prices may be subject to material and fuel surcharges at the time of shipment.

Freight charges: Freight charges are determined and collected by the carrier unless GameTime is requested and agrees to prepay and add these costs to the invoice.

Taxes: If applicable, taxes will be added to the invoice except when a tax exempt certificate is provided with the purchase order at the time of order entry.

Minimum Order: Our minimum order is $50 (USD). Any order less than $5,000 requires cash with order or payment by major credit card.

Order Cancellation: Once accepted, orders can be canceled only with the consent of GameTime, and on terms which will indemnify GameTime against loss. Canceled orders will be subject to a restocking fee. Equipment “built-to-order” is non-cancelable.

Domestic Shipments: Unless specifically given routing instructions on the purchase order, shipment will be made via the carrier we consider to be the most economical and practical in reaching the final destination. All domestic shipments are governed by ICC Regulations.

Delays in transit: GameTime is not responsible for delays in transit and such delays shall not alter our invoicing terms.
